New album finished! Hear “Love is all I need”

11

Dear friends,

after a long journey I have finally finished my new album! I finished mixing it yesterday with Yoad Nevo in his wonderful Nevo Sound Studios in London. His console looks like the inside of Night Rider’s Kitt car. A massive thanks to my dear cohorts Tasha Baylis and Tom Welham, without whom this album could not have been made.

Its been a labour of love, both a delight and an ordeal. With this album I’ve allowed my muse freer rein to explore all the different types of music I listen to and love. There’s sprinkles of britpop in there with tracks like “Planet earth”, Prodigy influenced beats in “Grace” and “Summer”, my adulation of the genius of Brian Wilson in “One day soon” and “Dizzy” and a happily shameless play-on-words homage to the Beatles in “Love is all I need”.

I’m particularly proud of “Epiphany” which flows like a meandering river through several different musical landscapes.

As always, I hope the songs lift your hearts up in small, unexpected ways.

The tracks on the album are:

one day soon / dizzy / planet earth / love is all I need / long before you’re here / oxygen / closer / grace / epiphany / summer / eternal

As I love to share my new music as soon as its done (you’ve got to eat the bread when its just been baked!) here’s “Love is all you need” to wet your appetite…

I’ll be doing a soft release of the album to get it into your hands, both digital and physical, before Christmas time. But I plan to promote it throughout next year with gigs starting in the UK in January.

After much coming and going with wildly different album titles, I decided in the end to self-title the album “Glass Pear”.

Let me know what you think of the bread and thanks for your ongoing support!

Lyrics to “Love is all I need”

Love is all I need
Have I met you somewhere before
Maybe long ago?
In a different kind of world
That we used to know
I thought love was lost
But love was just asleep
I thought you were gone
But you were next to me
Waiting for a kiss to set you free
Oh my God
How could it be?
All my life
I’ve been fast asleep
You woke me up
You shattered my dream
Oh my God
Love is all I need
As long as we are under the sun
And the wind it blows
Even when I breathe my last
I will never know
I thought you were gone
But you were holding me
I thought love was lost
But love was buried deep
Oh my God
How could it be?
All my life
I’ve been fast asleep
You woke me up
You shattered my dream
Oh my God
Love is all I need
‘Cause time will fly away
‘Cause time will fly away
‘Cause time will fly away
‘Cause time will fly away

Where is my home?

1

Where is my home?

It is time to go
Another night on show
Singing on my own
Oh

I wrote you all a song
But where do I belong?
Somewhere in your heart
Alone

Am I flesh or am I soul?
Am I spirit or am I bone?
Am I far or am I close?
Where is my home?

No I don’t want your drugs
But I need some love
To keep me from myself
Alone

Am I flesh or am I soul?
Am I spirit or am I bone?
Am I far or am I close?
Where is my home?

Nothing
I am nothing
I am nothing, nothing
Nothing to you
Give me something
Give me something that is true

Am I flesh or am I soul?
Am I spirit or am I bone?
Am I far or am I close?
Where is my home?

Dear friends, my amazing sister Jem has been working tirelessly to create a CD to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Jem was in New York on that day staying with a family that sadly lost a loved one.

Summer

4

Dear friends,

I’m releasing a new track this week called “Summer”. Its available to buy now from http://glasspear.bandcamp.com along with “Eternal”.

It will be available to buy from iTunes tomorrow Wed 8 June.

The video was edited from my own family archives and stars my very own mum & dad and two eldest sisters! I was not yet on the planet but when I did appear we kept going to this very special place in Wales every summer. I get quite misty eyed watching this video as it is so full of wonderful memories for me!

Enjoy,

Yestyn
