Electro remix-lovers head over to my bandcamp! Today I release a nice bundle of all my remixes to date, including two lovely ones by James Hockley who has worked a lot with Chicane, plus the final album version of “Summer”.
after a long journey I have finally finished my new album! I finished mixing it yesterday with Yoad Nevo in his wonderful Nevo Sound Studios in London. His console looks like the inside of Night Rider’s Kitt car. A massive thanks to my dear cohorts Tasha Baylis and Tom Welham, without whom this album could not have been made.
Its been a labour of love, both a delight and an ordeal. With this album I’ve allowed my muse freer rein to explore all the different types of music I listen to and love. There’s sprinkles of britpop in there with tracks like “Planet earth”, Prodigy influenced beats in “Grace” and “Summer”, my adulation of the genius of Brian Wilson in “One day soon” and “Dizzy” and a happily shameless play-on-words homage to the Beatles in “Love is all I need”.
I’m particularly proud of “Epiphany” which flows like a meandering river through several different musical landscapes.
As always, I hope the songs lift your hearts up in small, unexpected ways.
The tracks on the album are:
one day soon / dizzy / planet earth / love is all I need / long before you’re here / oxygen / closer / grace / epiphany / summer / eternal
As I love to share my new music as soon as its done (you’ve got to eat the bread when its just been baked!) here’s “Love is all you need” to wet your appetite…
I’ll be doing a soft release of the album to get it into your hands, both digital and physical, before Christmas time. But I plan to promote it throughout next year with gigs starting in the UK in January.
After much coming and going with wildly different album titles, I decided in the end to self-title the album “Glass Pear”.
Let me know what you think of the bread and thanks for your ongoing support!
